Converse was founded in 1908.

Originally, the company specialized in manufacturing rubber clogs. That same rubber was soon used in their sneakers. In 1920, Converse renamed its canvas basketball sneaker the “All Star.” The name stuck. The original purpose, however, evolved.

Initially designed to help players score on the court, you saw something more… and started wearing them for all kinds of things. Playing music, painting, skating through the streets, or simply going out. You turned them into a fashion statement. You wore them to work. You customized them to fit your style. You went through life in them—and put them through it all. You recognized the endless potential of our sneakers.

Today, that spirit lives on in their All Star, Cons, and Jack Purcell models and apparel.
Their journey begins the moment you put them on—whatever you choose to do. You give them meaning. You define their purpose. They become a symbol of your individuality and your freedom of expression.

They become a part of you.
They are Made by You.
